As part of the initiatives to generate employment and drive ICT entrepreneurial development in Nigeria, the Ministry of Communication Technology in conjunction with Intel Corporation is calling on software developers and entrepreneurs to participate in a 2 week Software Competition to submit a demo/beta web-based solution for a Student PC Ownership Program. Unilever Campus Ambassador Program for Nigerian Students.

Unilever Nigeria Plc is set to engage students in campuses across Nigeria Universities by signing them up as campus brand ambassador for the Unilever Nigeria Brand.

The Brand Ambassadors will serve as liaison between their campuses and Unilever. They are required to come up with interesting and resourceful engagements within their campuses, advertise Unilever to the students as a great Brand and serve as a point of contact between the students and Unilever.

Unilever Campus ambassador are required to:

  • Work closely with Unilever Employer brand team
  • Host and organize events to bring awareness to Unilever brand
  • Attend Unilever events as a Unilever representative
  • Help Unilever to better understand your campus culture
  • Build relationships on campus with faculty and student groups
  • Spread Unilever goodwill to your fellow students

2012 International Youth Leadership Academy

The second ever international training programme of the International Youth Leadership Academy will take place on 7-14 September 2012. The training will be conducted based on the experience and knowledge of experts and trainers from UNICEF, Save the Children and Habitat. The main aim of this programme is to develop the capacity of local youth leaders and to support them to actively contribute to their own communities.

The training will be conducted in two phases. The first phase of the training aims to develop the capacity, skills and experience of the participants on human rights, youth and child rights and participation as well as more specifically on Child Abuse and Neglect, Violence against Children, Child Protection, Intercultural Dialogue, Conflict Resolution and Mediation. Therefore, this training will focus on theoretical learning combined with various case studies from Turkey and the participating countries. The participants will make an action plan to follow up the process till the second phase.

During this process, the participants will be followed by the experts and supported with various materials that will enable them to get prepared for the second phase. In other words, the first training will be followed up by both a monitoring and mentoring process.


30 participants (20 international, 10 national) will be selected from countries in the Balkans, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus. Priority will be given to applications from Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Egypt, Georgia, Jordan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Montenegro, Palestine, Romania, Serbia, Syria, Tunisia, and Turkey….) youth participants from other parts of the world are also encouraged, however, the priority will be given to the above mentioned countries Applicants should:

2012 Basic Certificate Course @ Daystar Leadership Academy

Daystar Leadership Academy is a Leadership/management development school which came into existence in January 2002. The school runs both the Basic and Advanced certificate course in Leadership. The last basic certificate in leadership course will take place on Sept 1st-23rd, 2012 at the Daystar Christain Center.

After having completed the Daystar Basic Leadership Academy course in July 2009, i will recommend the course because it is life changing,thought provoking,a good networking avenue and a good way to improve your leadership skills. But be warned,no amount of what you hear at the program will make a difference if you are not ready to take the next step.
